Advanced Tab Grayed out Under View Available Wireless Networks

When I right-click on the wireless icon in the systray, and then click on
"View Available Wireless Networks", the Advanced button and the Connect
button are grayed out. The only button lit is "Cancel" (That's useful!)

I've searched the posts and some said this was due to Wireless Zero Config
being disabled. Nope. According to Component Services it is started.

Other symptoms: When I upgrade or re-install the drivers it does not
connect automatically. I have to go to the Advanced Tab of the Adapter, and
change the ESSID manually to the SSID of my AP. Sometimes have to change
the channel manually too. I've tried un-installing the drivers and
re-installing the latest from Linksys with no joy. Also, I've never been
able to
successfully set up WEP.

Win XP Home, Linksys WPC11 V2.6, driver date 4/17/2003, version 2.9.8.335
