AdSubtract SE allows you to block web site advertisements, removing
clutter from your screen, while speeding up web surfing by not
downloading unwanted material. Your online privacy is also enhanced,
with AdSubtract preventing Internet cookies from being sent to web
servers, which otherwise can result in online profiles being created to
monitor your web activities. AdSubtract runs in the background,
alongside your web browser, allowing you to control your web
experience. With AdSubtract software, you can have "The Web Your Way"!
Why last freeware version : AdSubtract SE it was Free for personal use,
now is a shareware product .

Just click on the '' updates '' tab and get them ( it doesn't turn in a
trial or something else ) . We tested AdSubtract SE 1.68 with Firefox
1.0.4 and it works like i told you before , its not Ad Muncher but a
good free replacement . For ad blocking software be free to visit the
related section on our site :

What advantage would this have over the FF adblock extension?

After reviewing the license agreement for AdSubtract SE v1.68 and
AdSubtract SE v2.31 it would appear that AdSubtract SE v1.68 may not be
the Last Freeware Version.

From the AdSubtract SE v2.31 License:

License Grant. Licensor grants you and you accept the nonexclusive
right to install and use this copy of the AdSubtract SE software program
(hereinafter "AdSubtract") on multiple computers. AdSubtract is
provided free of charge for personal use at home only. If the use of
AdSubtract is for business or professional use, including use by
government, non-profit and educational institutions, you may use
AdSubtract for evaluation purposes only for a maximum 30 day period
("Evaluation License"). Upon expiration of the 30 day evaluation
period, you must uninstall AdSubtract immediately and, if you wish to
continue to use AdSubtract software, please upgrade to AdSubtract PRO or
another paid version of AdSubtract software.

The above text is identical to that found in the License for AdSubtract
SE v1.68.

An interesting aside is what I found in the AdSubtract Pro v3.0 License:

9. You may use The Software freely for an evaluation period of thirty
(30) days from the day you first install it. After the end of the 30-day
evaluation period, you may continue to use the trial version of The
Software for personal use at home only. Some features of The Software
may be disabled after the evaluation period is ended. If you wish to use
The Software on a computer owned or used by a business, governmental
entity, non-profit or educational institution past the end of the 30-day
evaluation period, you must obtain a paid license. Trial versions of The
Software are not entitled to any upgrades or updates of software or
configuration files, including any filtering or scanning database. Paid
versions of The Software are entitled to one year of free updates to The
Software and The Software's database, as these become available.

After the Trial Period AdSubtract Pro v3.0 may become equivalent to
AdSubtract SE with no limitation on length of use for the Home User.

I note that they state "Internet Browser : Microsoft ® Internet
Explorer." Should I assume that it is flaky if using Mozilla Firefox?

I still say WebWasher is the best for filtering garbage from web pages.

http://www.cyberguard.com/products/w...sic/index.html

It doesn't require signature file updates and has a built in cookie
filter too. It has a large system resource requirement, but that isn't
an issue with XP from what I hear.

Wasn't Adsubtract a licensed version of proxomitron? I doubt it does
anything that proxomitron doesnt (with the right filters).
