adsl workplace network connection

Can someone help me with any info on setting up a adsl
broadband connection to my workplace.

I have adsl at home and I want to connect to my computer
at work but I cannont seem to work out how to do it. I
have a dial up connection but it is way too slow

Do you have a router at home and/or at work? If you have a router, you need
to open up specific port numbers in order to access certain applications.
What program are you using to connect? pcAnywhere or similar program?
