After struggling for a long time we moved the above described package to
another computer, also running XP.
We connected immediately both through wired ports and a wireless connection.
We returned the entire package to the subject machine and XP tells us
"Limited or no connection"
All Modem and Router lights are normal
A dead end address that looks something like this appears: 169.xxx.xxx.xxx
We've tried different slots for the NIC in the subject computer.
We suspect something the registry but have no clue as to where to look.
