Has anyone here upgraded to the new ADSL Max services around? (8MB ones)

I've heard quite a few bad comments on them, so I'm considering going for a 2MB package even if it will be the same price as the 8MB plans.

I don't know of anyone yet with much positive to say about the Max ADSL yet

Ian, I'm still trying to figure it out ...

Our ADSL MAX services provide the maximum speed possible on your line, currently up to 8Mb. The speed is determined by the quality of your BT line and the distance from the exchange.
So, err, "MAX" means nothing ... if your lucky, you'll get 8mb, if you live close enough.

I have already been told by BT the the most (max) I'll probably get is 6Mbs ... fine, but I wish they would get it running NOW.

You're not being "confused" with ADSL2, are you?

I don't think I'm getting confused with ADSL 2, but I could well be I thought ADSL max was the new speed jump from 2MB to 8MB which calculates the max speed available over the first ten days (up to 8MB).

Bit of info I found from google on it

OK, you threw me off by using BT's new lingo of the word MAX

Your the first person I've seen use it ... "BT MAX" is just BTs name for the increase in bandwidth, it was actually 'coined' after the big flop of BTs SDSL (super DSL ???) ... BT had actually upgraded nearly all 800 exchanges before dropping it ... nobody has a subscription to SDSL.

SO, in answer to your original question ...

I'm still waiting.
