How do I sort my address book by surname. I can do it via contacts but not
address book. I used to be able to do this in 98, now upgraded to 2007.

You can't AFAIK - Outlook 98 used a PAB (Personal Address Book) - every
version since 2002 now just uses Contacts. The "Address Book" dialog box
that appears when you click on the "To" button, is just a view of your
Contacts folder....

Change the properties of the Outlook Address Book service to use the "File
As" value for its display. I don't recall off-hand exactly where that
setting is in OL 2007, but start with Tools>Account Settings.

It's here:
Go to Tools > Account Settings > Address Book Tab > Outlook Address Book >
Change... > Set sort order there

All versions of Outlook have used Contacts and the Outlook Address Book.
None used a PAB except for backwards compatibility. Method for sorting the
Outlook Address Book is in Brian's post.
