Hi
This is driving me mad, I'm hoping some one can help me. I have several
forms, each of which contain check boxes. The check boxes are based upon SQL
fields which have a bit data type.
Works fine on 95% of pcs. However, there are a few with a strange problem.
For certain users, ticking the box works fine. However, they cannot then
untick the box. If they exit the form, and then open the form again, the box
can be unticked. But only one box - must exit the form and then go back in
to untick another box.
So its like the record gets locked, then Save on the exit unlocks it. All
the effected PCs have the full Access 2003, on service pack 3.
Any ideas?
Thanks

There's a known bug in SP3 with SQL Server bit columns. Search Microsoft's
site for the hotfix.

Hi Simeon,
I think that the following article is what bcap referred:
After you install Office 2003 SP3, you encounter various problems in an
Access project when you work with a Bit data type column in a linked SQL
Server table
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943967/EN-US

Please try installing the Access 2003 post-SP3 hotfix package to see if it
helps. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to let
me know. Have a nice day!

Best regards,
Charles Wang

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for
non-urgent issues where an initial response from the community
or a Microsoft Support Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable.
Please note that each follow up response may take approximately
2 business days as the support professional working with you may
need further investigation to reach the most efficient resolution.
The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by
contacting Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) at
