After getting 'PCworld Tips' email about the Adobe security issue, I
downloaded the EMET app and installed on my test environment drive to check
it out.
http://www.pcworld.com/article/20534...nl_ptx_h_crawl

Messed up my dual-boot machine ( Vistaloader on there and been fine for
years - until now)

Config:
IDE = test drive (has had xp, Vista and Win7 installed on it)
SATA = everyday drive.
Boot flow = IDE boot menu, then SATA.
On test drive I had previously install Vista (years ago), Win7 beta, all
those partitions wiped when beta ended, but remnants still in boot area. I
left the XP partitions alone.

After installing EMET on my test XP drive to check out acrord32.exe
interfacing screens, I then rebooted everyday drive. At login, it hangs
quite a while. Eventually, I get errors from NVidia app and Logitech webcam
apps " App Closing due to security ..." Event Category (100) Event ID =1000

If I check DEP setting from Control panel - system - Performance - the two
radio buttons are now grayed out and at the bottom a message " Need to be an
administrator ... make changes to boot.ini file"

If I go back to BIOS and disable the IDE drive, XP on the SATA drive is now
fine ( IDE no longer in boot flow).
Why is it a problem : is it because I have 2 drives ?
no mention of potential conflict with EMET app so be aware.
