When I need a .pdf document from a website, I would like
the .pdf document to open in Adobe Acrobat 6.0 (as a
helper application), rather than in my browser. I already
unchecked "display in browser" in my preferences. Is
there something in ie6 that is preventing me from using
Adobe at the same time? I can do this at home, but my
work computer will not allow it! Please help.

Reverse this process.

Try this URL from Adobe on configuring IE or AOL to display PDF files.
And other issues.
