Is the computer part of a network? If so, you might have domain and/or
organizational 'group policies' installed on the workstation. If so, these
policies are likely overriding your local user policies, including the
administrator. These policies are typically a safeguard put in place by
network administrators.

Can anyone tell me how to install a program which gives me
an error message, "Access denied. Please logon with
administrator privileges and try again" I have Windows XP
running and have a user account which is a computer
administrator account. There is also another user on the
computer with the same type of account. I have tried to
install the program which is a game while in safe mode
under the default administrator account with the same
results.
