Two installs as in a choice at boot time (Boot.Ini) ?
Unless you designated an Administrator password it's by default
a Null value ( Empty ), just press Enter when prompted for it.

For you to have 2 separate XP instances on the same disk/volume
you'd have to assign the %SystemRoot% to a path other than
C:\Windows when it (Setup) asked for a Windows location path.
Also when Setup ran it should have examined your drives and
done a search for existing XP installs. At this point it would have
asked you if you wanted to do a Repair on that instance.

From your description it's hard to know exactly what setup your
system currently has on it.

Hi

Please try the following article by Michael Stevens:

"I have two installations of XP on the same partition........"
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/xpfaq.html#20

If you were asked for a password during a 'Repair' install of XP - you
pressed the 'R' at the wrong time.
