is there anyway to reset an administrator user/password?
because the prior computer user had left and neglected to
inform us of the administrator password... we have 1
computer now that is locked because of this... help??!!

Have you tried to log on with the original Administrator user:

How to Log On to Windows XP If You Forget Your Password or Your

If that doesn't work out, you might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:
