On my Computer I am the only user and adminstrator. Suddenly, for no
reason, I find that I am not alone.
Administrator and Administrator 2 are listed in Documents and Settings.
Below those there is my name.
I am unable to delete them. As long as they are there I am not permitted
into the Registry.
Does one of you have the answers?

Nurmi,
Apart from you, there is normally a default administrator(its yourself). For
example in the Docs and settings, there are Administrator and Nurmi. But If
you have two administrators and then you, there is a problem. Please go to
the Control Panel and click on the User account and see if you can delete
one of them(if both appear it would be easy).
If they don't, start your computer in safe mode(click on F8 during boot and
select safemode) and all users should appear in the welcome screen (if
activated), select the one which shouldn't be there and check if it needs a
password. Then Go to the User accounts and delete the false administrator,
it should work. (Please reply).

(limited Account, Password Protected)
ASP Net Machine must have been added when I tried to "share all files with
other users" in Adminstrators Properties - Sharing

In Safe Mode under "HP_Pavilion (CDocuments and Settings listed:" I found:
1. Administrator.
Under Properties Size lists

General 1.45MB, Attributes Read-only

Security: 1. Administrator (Hobby \Adminstrator) I named it Hobby

2. Administrators (Hobby\Administrators (notice the S to differenciate
between 1 and 2

3. SYSTEM - In Advanced all three show "Full Control" (not inherited)



2 Administrator (2)

Properties: Size 1.02 MB Attributes: Read-only

Security - Group or names: Everyone

Advanced: Full Control (Not inherited)



3. HP Authorized Custom

Properties Size 441 MB

Security - As in 1 above

Advanced all three "Full Control" (not inherited)



I attempted to get into the Registry while in safe mode but msg: "Registrty
editing has been disabled by your administrator" put paid to the effort.



I am unable to delete admin accounts in Explorer. I did not attempt to
delete account in Control Panel.

Do you use your computer as a web server?
I see also that you use quotas. The ASP Net Machine is a machine account, if
you use your computer as a webserver, and you use disk quotas... it is
normal that this should appear
If the built-in administrator appears(which should not appear)(The details
for the built-in admin are given during the instalation of Windows Xp), you
have a problem with the windows accounts(there is a fix for it)

Check again in the Users settings in the control account, you should be able
to delete accounts from there(be sure that you back up data to other
accounts during this process)

Hi Pascal I
Thanks. - I do not use the computer as a webserver and have deleted that
Account.
In the "User Account" within the Control Panel there is one Adminstrator
listed (Me) and one Guest Account.
The other Accounts, namely Administrator, Administrator 2, HP Authorized
Custom do not show up there
They are listed under Documents and Settings only.
HP Authorized Custom seems to be the one I am using since it contains the
441 MB data.
I am unable to delete any folder with in the first two. It would seem that
I have to get rid of at least one of them
in order to gain control over my WindowsXP?
