I have network that consists of two domains the local domain has a Windows 2000 server that runs active directory and the remote domain is has a NT40 server on it as the domain controller. The domains are connected through a VPN.

All was fine until we installed McAfee Netshield on the network.

The administrator account for the local domain cannot login to the local Windows 2000 server. When the password and domain are entered the logon box goes away a "applying personal settings" dialog box appears. A few seconds later the Server 2000 login box appears again.

The administrator of the local domain can login to other machines on the network as the domian administrator.

Any help would be appreciated. I am thinking it s something to do with the active directory, but am not positive.

Thanks in advance.
