I have forgotten my password for the administrator account
on my other computer. As this is the only account on the
computer I am locked out and unable to access anything.

Therefore I am unable to find out my XP ID number as it
came pre-installed without a CD.

Is there any way to disable the administrator password or
get back into it at all?

You could try the following procedure (worked for me)
rightclick on "My Computer" then "administrate"
local users and groups users Here you can create a new user and give
him administrator rights.

other possibility

If you just need to find out the serial number find yourself a win2k cd
(bootable). Boot from the 2k cd and go in the recovery console. Usually you
will be promted for the administrator password however win xp has a bug that
allows you to bypass the password if you use the 2k recovery console. Then
it's up to you to find the file that contains your serial number and copy it
to a floppy or whatever else media you have.

Hi

Have you tried to log on with the original Administrator user:

Password Expires

If that doesn't work out, you might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:
