For some reason, Administrative Tools has disappeared from both the
Start Menu and Control Panel. It was there a week ago, when I last used
it. I've checked the taskbar options and it's set correctly to show in
both the "all programs" and "start menu".

So where did it go? And, how do I get it back?

Click Start / Settings / Task bar and Start Menu / Start menu tab /
customise

Place a tick mark into the appropriate box.

As I said, I'd already done that. It's set correctly. Even so, that
wouldn't explain why it's gone missing from the Control Panel too.
