I have administrator rights and my kids have have Limited account. Acrobat
reader is not recognized until I give them Administrator rights. When I do
that, works perfectly. That's the only program that I've loaded that they
can't use.

Any idea what is going on?

The Acrobat Reader usually works free of problems under restricted
accounts, however, I did not run these tests with all its versions.
Remove that software and reinstall with administrative privileges.
Check the option (if any) during install "Yes, for all accounts",
or similar. If this doesn't help, find out the Reader's version and
contact the Adobe tech support.

I did however try to uninstall and re-install.
the stinkin thing toggles file associations (pdf's to reader) on and off
with admin and limited priviledges.... makes no sense.

No idea if your original problem has been resolved or if you're talking
about another issue. It's certainly the best to contact the Adobe tech

Addendum in case that the file association is/was the only problem:
Logon with the (restricted) user account > right click a .pdf file >
Open with... > pick the Acrobat Reader from the list > tick the check-
box at the bottom > OK. Good luck.

hello - thanks again. I'll reply for infromational purposes. And I will try
Adobe.

But, I tried that also. for some reason it the forced association doesn't
stick. Even though I get no errors.

Thanks for the feedback. In the meantime and as a workaround, your
kids may want to open .pdf documents via the Reader's File > Open
menu.
