I get the Administrators Only error on the Windows Update
site even though I am the administrator. I have done
everything in article 316524 except step 14 (the
exceptions won't take). I am very frustrated as this is
preventing me from fixing the Logo Program problems I am
experiencing when trying to upgrade DirectX. Please help!
The article mentioned firewall issues - how do I check
that? What else can be wrong? Thanks

There is a newsgroup for Windows Update issues
microsoft.public.windowsupdate
which may be the best place for your posting.

The firewall is set on/off in the properties of the network
interface. R-click on it and select properties then the
Advanced tab (it is in the Network Connections control
panel applet)

You may download the most recent DirectX release at
http://microsoft.com/directx
