I have thus far been unable to send a console message
from any of my peer2peer xp pro systems to another. I
keep getting a message. either the name is not correct
or the computer being sent the message is not available.
However both are untrue, I am able to connect shared
folders and see all peer2peer systems with no issues. I
also have windows messenger running on all systems
(someone else told me this had to be running in order for
console message to be sent). I am at a loss to what to
try next, any ideas?

Larry,

Your friends were referring to the Messenger Service that has to be
running on the system that you're sending the message to.

If you've become a victim in the past of the unwanted Messenger
Service popups, and you disabled Messenger Service to stop them, then
this is the result. The best solution for that is to install a NAT
router, which will intercept the popups, and enable Messenger Service
on all systems.

Cheers,

Chuck
