Adjustment alignment in templates

Using Powerpoint 2003. In some templates, eg Orbit and Ripple, when I try to
change the alignment of the heading in master slide to left align, the
toolbar button shows left but the text is still centred. If I delete the
placeholder and then re-insert it then the left align works as normal. Can
anyone explain why this is?

In Master View, if you right-click the placeholder and choose Format
Placeholder, then head to the textbox tab, you'll notice the text anchor
point is set to Bottom Centered. Change it to Bottom, and then you can apply
the justification using the typical tools as usual.

Thank you. Strange that when you delete and re-insert the placeholder it come
in with different settings.
