Adjusting Volume Causes System Crash

Hi -

I'm having trouble with my volume control. I'm running XP Pro SP2 and I also
use the latest version of the Rhapsody music player (recently updated).

Heretofore, I could adjust the volume using either the volume control panel
or the volume in the Rhapsody player. My habit had been to keep the speaker
volume turned up and the Rhapsody player volume turned down a bit so that I
can more easily control the volume with the media keys on my Dell Inspiron
9300. Today, however, I noticed that when I tried to adjust the volume on the
Rhapsody player, simultaneously the speaker volume would also lower or raise.

When I attempted to turn the speaker volume all the way up after turning the
Rhapsody volume all the way my computer gave a loud beep and shut down. So,
then I tried adjusting the speaker volume after shutting down Rhapsody. Same
thing...system crashed. I then tried to adjust the volume through the control
panel, turning it all the way up. I started Rhapsody it was very loud so I
tried adjusting the control panel setting and the system crashed again.

Can anyone help me?

Sounds like the "recently updated" Rhapsody player has
a bug.

Get rid of it, go back to last stable version.
