How to adjust the weight of markers

When I copy my graph to Word, the markers (marking the data points on the
graph) are too bold. I cannot adjust this in Excel with the window 'Format
Data Series', under the tab 'Patterns': only the weight of the lines can be
adjusted there. Is there another way to decrease the weight of the markers?

Thanks!

Prior to Excel 2007, you have no ability to change the boldness of the
marker outlines. You can shrink the markers, and you could remove the
outlines altogether.
