My desktop has suffered a catastrphic failure. I managed to rescue the hard
drive and it is now available as an external drive until my new PC arrives.
However, I need to get my address book from it and annot find it. Does
anyone have a suggestion?

On the assumption you are using some version of outlook, on some version of
win, all data contained in the *.pst file

Of course nothing will be accessible untill you receive your new PC and
install/configure outlook on it
