when i type in an address for a web site there is an
error that comes up and i cant get to the site.

What is the error? Does the error appear on a web page in your browser or
is is a system message box? Where are you typing the web address, the IE
address box or in the run box on the start menu" If in the address box, do
you get the same error in the run box. Are you able to connect to the
Internet at all and navigate and surf when you don't type in a web address?
