When i search with the adress bar the search is done with
shopnav, and ive done everything i can to get rid of it. I
tried changing the search page to google from the
registry, but it changed back to shopnav. i've gone to all
the sites that tell you how to remove shopnav from the
registry, and they keep referring to files/folders
called "srng" which are not on my computer. Ive used
adaware as well as earthlink spyblocker, and have had no
luck. any help would be appreciated.

remove it from there......go to edit or view....and
search it from there and remove.....(back up your
registry before and or if you make a mstake that can
permanelty damage your system)

Sounds like some Spy/Adware, try running a removal program (Spyhunter, NAV 2004, etc).

This is the parasite.
ShopNav http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/ShopNav.html

Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

I finally got rid of shopnav today, after many months of trying.

If you are using windows xp the key seems to be shutting down system
restore before running spybot, cwshredder and adaware.

Restart your computer and turn system restore back on.

I hope this helps.
