address bar is not working on taslbar.. please help!

I have an address bar located on taskbar in my windows xp
pro. but whenver i go to type a website address then clik
go or enter, it doesnt work at all. What to do..i had
tried searching everywhere.. seems like no solution for
this problem. Anyone out there got the answer?
