Whenever I try to type into the address bar it ends up deleting what I've put
in and puts back what was in there at the time.

I have run all AV and Spyware checkers. There doesn't appear to be any
problems. I've had the problem before and I have fixed it by setting my home
page to a different page and then restarting IE. This didn't fix it this
time.

Hi :-)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, nor whether or not
the previous URL the address in the window was one you had entered before.

Try the information before and see if it helps:

Cannot Type Text in Outlook Express or Internet Explorer
http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;q235236
Restore search functions
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs...oreSearch2.REG
to restore your search functions

Hope this helps.

I am working in XP Pro with all of the latest updates. I tried your first
link and it appears it's only valid for Me and below. The previous URL is
not typed, it is from clicking a link.

Did you try the second one? It is for XP.

also...

Close all instances of IE:

Go to Start>Run>type regedit (press enter)

Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

Find the offending URL, select it, hit delete.

and...

Resets all the IE functions

Go to Start> Run> and reregister the following.dlls

Copy and paste the following .dlls in the window one at a time and hit enter
after each one.

Regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

You should see a message after entering each that says it has been
registered.

Hope this helps.
