Hi ...

need a little direction, have HP xt926 Pavillion with 40
GB hard drive. Added a 60 GB second drive, and it shows on
the system (when I check add/remove hardware) and the
wizzard says its installed, however no drive id letter
shows on My Computer and hence I can't access the drive.

Have double checked the jumpers (set as slave) and it is
plugged into the slave connection on the harness ..

any help or succestions would be appreciated ... getting a
little warpped over here ...

What are the jumpers on the original drive set to? Most
by default are set to CS (Cable Select) which can cause
some very odd things to happen at boot up. Set both
jumpers to CS or set one to master and the other to slave.

You need to go into disk manager and actually create and format partitions
onto the drive before you will see it in my computer.. If the wizard says
it is installed it is not likely to be a jumper problem.

Right click on my computer - manage - storage - disk management

Maybe a dumb question but! Have you formatted and assigned
a drive letter? Disk Administrator. Dan
