Hi John,
Not sure of what your solution was, but it sounds to me
like under Tools, Options, General that you
had an entry in Alternate Startup Folder pointing to your
addins folder. That would be the equivalent of putting
all addins in your Startup folder and every one of them
would start automatically -- not something that you want.
The only people who would really have use for
Alternate Startup folder are those on a network
and it's probably usually done wrong when they do
with the administrator assuming only one network
and noone has would be allowed to have their own macros.
