I have a home network that uses an SMC router (7004ABR) to
connect to the Cable modem. I have had one win98 computer
and one win2000 computer on that network for the last 2-3
years working without any problems. Last week I got a new
Sony Z1 laptop with XP Professional on it. I added the
computer to the home network and things stopped working.
The XP computer boots up fine but as soon as I start doing
a network activity such as use a browser, all the computers
on the network stopped working on the network. When I shut
down the XP computer, the other computers go back to
working normally. The TCP/IP is set to use DHCP and there
is not really any complicated network settings. I have set
the workgroup for all the computers to be HOME. Any ideas,
suggestions to solve this problem will be welcome.

Thanks.
