I need to add a new Win2K server to my existing WinNT 4.0
network. I can join the domain but the PDC does not
acknowledge "seeing" the WIn2K server.
I can ping the new server from the PDC and BDC. The ARP
cache shows the new server, but Server Manager on the PDC
denies the new server exists. WINS is configured on the
new server, NetBIOS over TCP/IP is turned on, and DNS is
set to valid nameservers.
An old WinNT 4 app and file server was removed from the
network prior to my trying to connect the new server. Once
the old server was removed from the network, the new Win
server was renamed to the same name and IP address, then
added to the domain. It adds just fine, sees other servers
on the domain, but cannot see the PDC.
If anyone knows how to "break the code on this", please
help. Thanx.
