I,ve recently added a couple of websites to Google search engine but when
they appear on google, under the page description the www is missing before
the name of my website. I have checked that i added the site with google
correctly and wonder if the problem is with my hosting or FTP. Any advice
will be appreciated.

It makes no difference if your DNS servers are properly configured.
http://website.com and http://www.website.com should both open the site.

The only problem is you have http://website.com and http://www.website.com
opening the same site Google will see duplicate content as G sees them as 2
different urls serving the same content. Best way is to set up your server
so that http://website.com redirects to http://www.website.com - or vice
versa if you prefer without the www.

On *nix servers the redirect can be done in htaccess in windows it can be
set in IIS either way it's a 5 minute job that's well worth doing.

Cheers,
Jon
