I created a presentation using video clips I created with
a digital camcorder. I had the presentation working
great. I shut my computer down and took it to give the
presentation. It now locks up when it gets to the parts
with the video and it tells me that power point does not
have the correct import filter. I am unsure what
happened. I tried uninstalling and re installing power
point and it still does the same thing. Anybody?

You know, that doesn't sound like a video message. What else is in the
presentation that could cause a problem? Do you have any objects that were
copied from other applications and inserted via Paste Special? Or any
linked images from other applications?

Otherwise, could you run it again and jot down the exact message and let us
know?

Carl, I've seen you make this comment several times now, and similar
statements about MP3, and I don't agree with you at all. If you are having
difficulties with MPG's or MP3's, tell us about them and we'll help. I just
feel it's misleading to let a lot of people think that they are a problem.

That said, MP3's cannot be inserted in PowerPoint 97. Vido problems can
occur if there are settings problems on the system, or a codec is not
installed. If you need more information on multimedia in PowerPoint,
there's a great tutorial by Austin Myer at
