I'm running XP Home but have only one partition on the
HD...can I add a second HD & install WIN98 on it?

Yes, as long as your system partition is formatted as FAT32 and not NTFS.

However, it's likely that after installing Windows 98, you'll need to be
prepared to repair your Windows XP install (since Windows 98 will take over
your boot loader).
