I have a windows 2003 print server and a win 95 client. After I add the
win95 drivers in 'additional drivers' for the print queue on the server, I
attempt to add the print queue to my win95 client. When I do this, it says
that it can't find a file, typcially a .dll file. The path it is looking on
is \\printservername\print$\nt40\0. The problem is the drivers are actually
installed to a spooler ID, and then the nt40\0 (ex.
\\printservername\print$\0ko33ioj\nt40\0) and if I map to that location the
drivers install fine. Obviously I don't want my clients to have to map over
to that location. It basically appears that the print$ share is pointing
the wrong place. Does anyone know how to get around this problem? Windows
2000 does not install its drivers with any type of spooler ID in the file
path.
