I can open another's calendar by going through the menu, but how can I add
links to the calendar onto the Folder List?

Are you running an exchange server. If so have the
administrator give you permissions to open the others
users account. Remember, you will now have permission to
view everything now. Makes sure that is ok with the other
person. CYA.

That is not the problem. I can view the calndars fine by going through
File...Open..., but I want to have links to certain calendars next to mine
in the Folder List pane (alongside the Task List, Inbox, etc...)

But just for reference, the version of Office I am running is 2000, SP2. I
do not know if Exchange Server is being used or not.

If you're using File | Open | Other User's Folder, I'm pretty sure you are
using Exchange server -- I don't think this command is available if you are
not on Exchange. Another way you can tell if you're using Exchange is to go
into Tools | Services and look at what you have listed on your Services tab.

If you are indeed using Exchange, this is the procedure you'd need to follow
to accomplish what you want. First, your co-worker needs to give you
Reviewer permission at the root of his/her mailbox. Then, he/she needs to
make sure you have the appropriate permission for the Calendar folder
itself. Once those two things are done, you can go into Tools | Services,
then into Exchange Server properties, click Advanced, and then add your
co-worker's mailbox to the list. The mailbox and all the folders you have
permissions to see, including the Calendar folder, will then appear in your
folder list.

Okay, Exchange Server is being used, so I was able to follow the procedure
you outlined, but then could not open the item - my guess being because I
only have permission to view the calendar, NOT the mailbox.

Any other suggestions?

Why not ask the mailbox owner to give you permission on the mailbox?

Are you saying that you want the other calendar to display on your folder
list, so you don't have to select File, Open each time?

If so, in Outlook XP, Select Tools, Email Accounts. View or Change Existing
Email Accounts. Click Change, then click More Settings. Click Advanced.
You should now be at the "Open These Additional Mailboxes" dialog box. Click
Add. Type the name of the mailbox you want to open, then click Apply, OK,
Next, etc. to exit all dialog boxes.

Now when you open Outloo, this calendar will display in your Folder List.

Apologies if this is not what you want..
