Hi
I have two problems.
I want to open images with Photoshop, but it does not appear on my right
click menu when I select "Open With".
If I browse for it, and select the .exe file, it closes the selecting menu
but still does not open it with photoshop, instead choosing whatever is
already selected on the first "Open With" option, so for some reason it is
not remembering what I have elected to use.
The second problem is how do I place the Photoshop link on the first open
with menu.

PS. I don't wish to always open image files with photoshop, as I prefer to
view them initially in Windows "picture and fax viewer"

When you browse to select the Photoshop executable, does the entry get added to the Open With dialog?

No, it doesn't.
Also I would expect the program to open the file without returning to the
"Open With" menu.

Try re-registering Photoshop executable with the Open With dialog and see if that fixes the problem:
