I have ripped some music using Sony's Connect Sound Stage but I can not
import those files into my power point presentation. They won't play.
Anybody have any ideas on what I can do?
I tried to convert the songs to a media player and I can't do that either

You'll need to convert it to a format recognizable by PowerPoint. If
possible, a WAV file would be best.

You'll need to tell us more. What version of PowerPoint are you using? What is
the file type of the music files? What happens (details please) when you try to
insert the files and what steps are you following to do the insertion?

Thanks for response. I'm using MS Powerpoint 2002
The type of music files are ATRAC.

This is what ATRAC is (by Sony) ATRAC3 stands for "Adaptive Transform
Acoustic Coding 3". Music can be downloaded more quickly to PCs for
subsequent transfer onto CD Recordable, Net MD, Hi-MD or Memory Stick media,
while maintaining superb sound quality.

ATRAC3plus, which stands for "Adaptive Transform Acoustic Coding3plus", is
an audio compression technology that is used to compress audio files to a
smaller size for playback on compatible devices. The ATRAC3plus format is a
more advanced version of the ATRAC3 format and is the format that is used for
audio previews within the ConnectTM Music Store.

When I try to import these files to Powerpoint I get this msg "PP can't
insert a sound file from the selected file".

I have follow the simples steps I have done many times before w/ .wav files.
I go to INSERT, SOUNDS/MOVIES, SOUNDS FROM A FILE.

Have you seen an ATRAC file before? Shall I send you one? Any ideas on how
to convert this file so that it is usable in PP?

thanks for your help.

The operative words are probably, "for playback on compatible devices".
PowerPoint does not recognize the files. You would need to convert them to WMA
or MP3 or WAV. If you have burned them to an audio CD, and they are then CDA
files, one suggestion would be to "rip" them from the CD to MP3 files.
AudioGrabber is a free program that can do this. It won't, however, know
anything about the ATRAC format.

If you are thinking of converting from ATRAC to MP3 and or other format, try
searching through Google. You can type in keywords like "ATRAC to MP3
converter".
