I had the exact same situation as the original poster. I added a second
hard drive to my system and I'm querying your answer. The hard drive I
added didn't have a jumper so I left it that way, after installation all
appears fine except it's also recognized as a MASTER containing data. I'm
told newer mobo's don't need you to use jumper pins, is this right and
should my added drive be a slave instead or is it ok to have two masters?
My added HD is on a separate cable and socket . Please correct me.
