i need to add support for Netgear's FA311 NIC to my BartPE admin disk and
haven't been able to successfully do so. i've found a couple of sites that
tell how to do it, followed the instructions but still haven't gotten it to
work properly.

can anyone give me some hints or point me to a working set of instructions?

thanks in advance,

TB

AFAIK you should use the DriverGuide Toolkit
(http://www.driverguide.com) to make a backup of your NIC-drivers and
put these files into the Network Driver folder of BartPE.
Good luck!

the thing is that I already downloaded the driver from netgear's site and
unzipped the driver files into the /network/FA311/files folder for PEBuilder
and it didn't work.

any other suggestions?

You'll probably see that the driverbackup that DriverGuide Toolkit
makes is a lot smaller than the original drivers. That's because DGT
only extracts the needed files, including the .INF-file.
Often this works better than using the unzipped drivers.
Just test it, maybe it works...

Arjan

well, i tried one of the Win98 drivers on from the driverguide website as
that is the OS on the hard drive i'm trying to recover. is that the one I
should be using? if not, which one is preferred?

also, I need to make sure I actually know where to put the drivers. I was
following the instructions on this page:
http://www.pecd.net/modules.php?name...showpage&pid=1

is that what I should be doing?
