Hi - Have been trying to add extra memory to my Patriot
2020 XP machine.
Definately have correct memory. Have two fre slots
But when I reboot after adding memory I get the message:
Windows cannot restart as following file is corrupt or
missing C:\Windows\System32\PCI.sys.

This file is missing
Cant restore it as I have an OEM installation of XP and
hence have restore disks rather than XP install discks
Don't understand why adding memory would require this
file.

My only thought is that the mother board is somehow
knackered and needs this driver to use the additional
slots but that is a total guess.

Please could someone offer advice or assistance?

Many thanks

Ian
