Adding layout cells to a webpage

I am new to FrontPage. When I draw a layout cell on a webpage I am working
on, FrontPage is actually adding a grid of nine blocks (it looks like a tic
tac toe board). The grid is the color of the border I have put on the
perimeter of the format table. Is there a setting I have missed? The
Microsoft Office Online training makes it look so easy, but something is not
quite right. Thanks for your help!

Do you still see it when you preview the page in a browser?

Yes, when I publish the page, it shows up. It isn't the dotted lines that
distinguish the format cell from the spacer cells.

I took the page down when I saw it was wrong. Now I can't duplicate it. Here
is url: http://www.photographiccruises.com/about_us.htm When I try to add a
layout cell to this page now, it attaches to the left side of the page and
can't be moved...

I'm not sure I understand the problem, but I can tell you the only way to
place two tables side by side is to create another table with two cells, and
place each table into its own cell.

I am not trying to place two tables side by side. I am trying to add one
layout cell to a layout table. For some reason, FP is making a grid of nine
cells...I will try a different route..it seems that the format tables just
don't work. Thanks for your help!

Don't use the table drawing feature. Create a table and build it that way.
