Hello,
I created several shortcuts to movies and would like to have different
pictures (icons) for the movie shortcuts.
How would I do that?
Thanks,
AJS

Right-click on the shortcut, Properties, use Change Icon, browse to an
..ico file containing the desired icon. Some files also include icons so
you could point at them (progmgr.exe is still around although rarely
used). Some DLLs have icons in them, like shell32.dll and moricons.dll.

You need icons, ICO files. You may be able to find them on the
internet, google images might work. But you can make them with
freeware like icofx.
Once you have an icon you just right click the shortcut -> properties ->
change icon. Pick the ico file you just got and bingo.

You wouldn't be able to recognize the image after it was squashed to the
16x16 or 32x32 pixel size for an .ico file. Google on an icon editor to
make your own.

Icofx.exe will capture a square section of your screen. Sometimes that
works, it's real Russian roulette, but sometimes....

Thanks for all the help.
I was able to change the icons for the shortcuts, but they were too small
and even smaller when I moved them to a folder.
Is it possible to have them larger, but just those in that folder.
Here is what I like to do: I have a bunch of movies and created shortcuts
for them so all I have to do is double click on the shortcut and the movie
starts. Now I want to use the cover images of the movies to replace the
default shortcut icons and have them in a much larger size.
Is this possible?
Thanks
AJS

Change that folder's view to Thumbnails and you should see the starting
frame of each movie.
