I need to add another hard drive to my son's computer. He has an A7N8X
Deluxe. I had orginally built it using a 200 GB SATA drive. Later I added
a 2nd SATA drive. He's filled them both up so I'm gonna add a regular IDE
(250 GB) drive to add more storage. Is there anything unusual to worry
about if adding a IDE drive to the mix? I have read posts before but never
paid attention to them. Just wondering if the how the computer deals with
adding a PATA drive to one already booting from a SATA drive. He also has
two CD drives, one DVD and one burner but I can't remember if those are on
the Primary or Secondary controller. Which brings up a good point, should a
new IDE drive be put on Pri or Sec controller?

Hi,

Just add the PATA disk as a master/single on the prim.

put the two opticals on the sec.

The new IDE drive should be alone on the Primary IDE channel. The optical
drives share the Secondary IDE channel.
