Adding footnote placeholders?

Hi - I'm a new user, forgive the probably dumb question - I've been
given a set of existing slides and told to add "page" (i.e. slide)
numbers to the lower right-hand corner of each. What I know about
these slides is that they currently consist of a placeholder area at
the top of each slide, where the "header" or title has been placed,
and another, larger, placeholder area below that, where the main text
& some screenshots are located.

How do I add a placeholder area in the lower right hand corner of each
slide where I can auto-insert the slide number?

Thank you.

Guest,
The placeholder should be there by default. When you go to View - Master -
Slide master - the placeholder for the numbering should be in the right hand
corner. If it has been removed, you can put it back by clicking on the
Master Layout button in the master toolbar (the one but last from the
right). Just put a check next to Slide number and hit OK.
If you want to apply the numbering, go to View - Header and footer - put a
check next to Slide number - click the apply to all button and you are in
business.

Bingo - I added it back in the Master Layout and everything is tickety-
poo.

BTW, sorry about not mentioning the Version, it just slipped my mind.
