ok we are a fairly large co with noe big network.but all sections 10-30 people
are seperate groups. So we have one fax machine per 3 floors. So the boss
decides that our group needs its own fax. So we find a brothermfc8820...laser
fax machine. Great....they are going to set up a phone line and we will be set.
Then someone goes no I want to be able to fax from my machine..(LAZY ASS)
network board avaialble..yes...nc9100.
BUT will this allow us to do what they want? catch that us and they LOL

can they sit at their computer and fax without setting up a dedicated machine
for the fax or super costly software on their machines?

thanks big time for any and all info and help

this went from a simple fax machine to a nightmare(since I have never done this
before)

Several of the HP laser multifunctions and the brother multifunctions with
ethernet have basic fax over lan capability. For full capability in an
office environment, both require purchase of additional software. For
instance, my brother 620cn allows for only a couple of user PCs without
purchase of additional use licenses. The HP 4100 has similar requirements,
and as shipped, did not include operational network fax software. You have
to call HP and arrange (pay) to get the enable keys, etc.

Well we ordered the fax and now 2 of the lazies are crying that they want to be
able to fax from their machine.
I said how many faxes do you send a year.. oh 10 or 20...A YEAR ?
and you are too $%^&lazy to walk 30 feet...

ok so I get stuck coming up with a way to make it work.
we are on a node that has 1500 users. and we are a little department with 9
people.
I asked brother about this network card and their response was don't worry about
access to the fax...only those with the correct software can fax but they
didn't mention anything about the software or how many users when I requested
more info.

ps now one of them is asking if I get a fax do I have to go get it or will it
foreward it to me in a text file....

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

how many zzzz's in LAZY
man you can't win.

thanks for the info
