I used xl97 at work from about the day it was released across two jobs
until I was laid off in '04, so I know lots of the minutiae about it.
Now I use mostly 2000 when programming, and 2003 for my own stuff. '03
is faster loading, and I really like the list feature. Of course, I have
'00, '02, and '03 installed on the same box with no precautions, so I
have some funny interactions between versions, and the user defined
chart gallery is completely hosed.
