Hi everyone,

We have an HP Proliant DL360 Server in my office which is used as a File and
Print server, however it's fast running out of room. My plan is to add 2 x
72GB SCSI Drives to the 4 existing ones for some extra storage.

The RAID Controller is a SMART 5i controller, with 1 array, and 1 logical
drive of around 200GB at present. My plans for upgrading are basically to
back up the server, insert the new drives while the server is online, and
then run the HP ACU to configure the new drives and add them to the existing
array.

Can anyone tell me if this will work correctly? Im not familiar with HP ACU
at all, so could just do with a few pointers, do's and dont's if you like.
If anyone could throw up a step by step guide of the ACU I would be
immensely grateful.

TIA for any help,

James.

You should check with HP to be sure that you can add to the array without
reformatting it unless someone here has done this to this exact system.
