Adding a column automatically with calculation

Hi All,
Apologies, I am a total excel newbie.

I am trying to get excel to do a calculation based on a cell and then display the results in another cell in a new column.

This I am doing like this:
=SUM(U2/100*17.5)

I would like to make the "2" dynamic as I don't want to add this code to every cell in my new column.

How would I do this? Do I need to use a macro?
