Adding categories to business contacts

I've had this happen a few times. I add a category to business contacts by
going to categories, all categories, and putting an x in the box to the left
of the category I want added to business contacts - usually one used in the
regular contact list.

What happens is the category is added but it seems to indiscriminately add
one or more (I think once it added 5 or 6) contacts from the file to this
category. The first two times, without thinking, I just clicked on the added
contacts and deleted them not realizing that I was completely deleting them
from the database. The second time, I managed to go back to a back up file
to retrieve the lost contacts.

So the software is, for some reason, adding one or more contacts to the
newly added category. Am I doing something wrong? Or is the software
defective? Or both;-)

I called support but was told that there was no answer to this problem,
though he helped me retrieve the lost contacts.

The other frustration I have related to this is that there is no undo or
history feature in the software to undo a stupid mistake like that.

Are you sure you didn't select more than one contact to categorize?
